Summer Sale!

We are on Sale!! It’s the time of the year again where everything goes on sale (or in some cases sale is already over while the summer is not yet coming to end). We’re so used to the whole sale thing and it’s nice because we can get a lot of things at a lower price, right? I decided for the first time to go on sale with my little brand @erie_berlin - which took me a while to understand and decide.

Because what is sale actually? And what does it suggest to us as consumers? Many times it makes us buy things that we don’t actually want or need. It makes it seem as if we need to grab something right now, otherwise it’s gone forever. And because it’s cheaper, so it’s not a big deal. Many times what’s behind going on sale, is that there is a huge overproduction and a huge pressure to renew the collection - because how does it look if the same clothes are sold for two summers?

So, brands go on sale to get rid of as much as possible - better sell than not sell at all - and then take everything that’s left, out of stores and maaaaany go into landfills and get burnt without having ever been worn.

As a sustainable brand, there’s a responsibility towards sustainability in all areas of a company - including marketing, going on sale, showing that we can #choosewellbuyless - that each one has a choice and responsibility towards what they consume. And there’s a responsibility of sustainable brands to present an alternative to what we are used to in this world at the moment. And to present an alternative to a world that is working in a certain way, sometimes it can be helpful to play with the rules of the game for just another moment in order to expose the alternative.

And we all love sale, right? ;)

So, here I am exploring and exposing elegant, comfortable, breathing clothing - an alternative of sustainable clothing that is completely biodegradable, #crueltyfree , #zerowaste , dyed with plants, and produced with lots and lots of love towards all details on the entire path of a piece of clothing 💜
